Victoria Creek South Para Reservoir

Team Civil successfully delivered creek rehabilitation and stabilisation works at South Para Reservoir, within the Victoria Creek corridor. The project focused on environmental protection, controlled earthworks within a live watercourse, and long-term creek bed stabilisation. The works enhanced creek stability, improved erosion resistance, and supported environmental rehabilitation within the reservoir catchment. The project was delivered with strict environmental controls, minimal disturbance outside the approved footprint, and full compliance with quality and environmental requirements.

Scope of works performed:

Scope of works performed at South Para Reservoir were as follows:

  • Mobilised to site and established temporary site facilities.
  • Carefully delineated and secured the approved construction footprint.
  • Installed sediment and erosion control measures within the watercourse to protect downstream environments.
  • Cleared and grubbed vegetation strictly within the agreed work zone.
  • Constructed an access track down to the creek invert.
  • Removed an existing tree and root ball to enable widening works.
  • Undertook detailed earthworks within the creek bed, including controlled widening of the channel.
  • Constructed designated planting pockets to support environmental reinstatement.
  • Placed rock armouring within the creek bed to form a stabilised rock chute.
  • Installed coir matting over the rock placement and spread site-won material, trimming to match existing surface levels.
  • Installed temporary dewatering infrastructure to maintain a dry and controlled working environment within the creek during construction.
  • Removed sediment controls and temporary access infrastructure upon completion and fully demobilised from site.
