Port Lincoln Cathodic Protection Upgrade Package – Stage 1 & 2

Team Civil was engaged to install new cathodic protection infrastructure including transformer rectifier units, performance testing of new transformer rectifier units both in the factory on site, installation of anode beds and dripper system and associated cathodic protection infrastructure.

Scope of works performed:

Scope of works included the following:

  • Development and implementation of project management plan.
  • Provision of work method statements for all construction and installation-related work activities.
  • Identification of the location of UG services before excavation to ensure that the works will not disturb existing underground foreign services or adversely impact on existing assets.
  • Installation, documentation and testing of new Transformer Rectifiers (TR), vertical anode bed, anode bed water dripping system and associated cabling (AC, DC positive, DC negative, reference electrode etc.).
  • Installation of a TWM connection and reference cell assembly.
  • Pipeline coating inspections at cathode connections.
  • Excavation of roads, footpaths, etc. including restoration and removal of all excess materials and equipment.
  • Supply of all materials required to complete the works except where listed as supplied by others.
  • Provision of As Constructed site-specific drawings for the work carried out on the three cathodic protection systems.
  • Site acceptance testing & factory acceptance testing for the completed installation to confirm compliance with the specified design.
  • Installation of stainless-steel labelling tags on the insulated joints.
  • Updating of SCADA program or new SCADA programs in TR Units.
  • Removal of Asbestos.
  • Provision of all Quality documentation associated with the works including the following:
  • Supply of Electrical Certificate of Conformance.
  • Inspection and Test Plans and checklists.
  • Calibration certificates for electrical test equipment and torque tools.
  • Photos and electrical certificate of compliance.
  • Materials certificates.
  • Provision of specialist Cathodic Protection drawings for the works.
